A frequently asked question is “Why is AS/400 so expensive?” After answering that the AS/400 is actually now called ‘System I’ under IBM’s ‘Systems Agenda’, formerly eServer ‘iSeries’ most customers lose interest and go and buy an Intel server running Windows or a UNIX server. Because they are cheaper. So is the AS/400 / iSeries / System i really expensive? 25/09/2006
